A boda boda operator charged with defiling a form two student at a school in Kangundo sub-county will spend the next seven days in police custody after failing to secure a Sh300,000 bond slapped on him by a Kangundo Court.

Thomas Kavoi, who hails from Kyevaluki sub location, appeared before Kangundo Senior Principal Magistrate, Desderius Orimba and denied defiling the 14-year-old school girl early Monday morning.

The suspect is alleged to have waylaid the girl at 5.30 am while on her way to school where he dragged her to a nearby abandoned building where he repeatedly defiled her.

The victim reported to local administration after which area assistant chief, Scolastica Mweu led officers to his house where he was arrested.

The magistrate set the case hearing date for April 4, 2017, as police conduct further investigation.
