[Photo|kahawatungu.com]Thika West sub-county community policing chairman, Ezekiel Karanja has lamented that a gang that have been terrorizing Thika residents is still roaming scot-free.This follows an incident where an elderly woman at Makongeni Phase Four was stabbed to death while lighting a jiko outside her house on Tuesday. It is not yet known who the assailants of the woman who used to trade at Madaraka market were, but it is highly suspected that the knife-wielding gang is behind the savage act.Ezekiel said the gang going by the names 'Ndunyuini and Gaza' operating mainly in Kiganjo and Makongeni have stabbed several residents and stolen their belongings.“We believe these criminals are outsiders and we want police to act with speed to apprehend them. We do not want to keep on hearing that 'investigations ate underway'. We want to see results," said Karanja. He noted that most of those affected by the criminal incidents are women who he said have lost handbags and valuables.Karanja urged Thika residents to be more vigilant and avoid using shortcuts, especially at night."It is unfortunate we are here to mourn the death of an old woman who has died not because of natural causes, but because some savages have decided to take it upon themselves to take her life away. May God and the law punish them severely," Karanja said.
