A suspected motorbike thief was beaten to death by an angry bodaboda riders at Kihoto slum in Naivasha town.

According to the bodaboda operators, the thieves usually target new motorbikes during the night.

Witnesses said the deceased was hiding at Kabati area after which the riders caught up with him and brought him to Kihoto area where they beat him up until he died.

Police officers who arrived at the scene shortly after the incident warned  locals against taking the law into their hands.

The officers urged residents to report crime cases to police for culprits to face the law.

The body of the deceased was taken to Naivasha hospital mortuary.
