[Photo| IOL News]A suspected motorcycle thief from Khwisero village in Kakamega County was on Tuesday evening lynched by an angry mob from Siaya County.The suspect Achewa Amimo, 34, was set on fire alongside unidentified man who was said to be his accomplice.The stolen motorcycle was found in the home of Alphonce Kabala in Enanga Village, Kisa South Location.After recovering it, the angry youth then burnt two houses in the homestead.According to Kabala's wife, Jackline Auma, Amimo had kept the motorbike in her house on Saturday evening, claiming it had broken down.

She narrated how the irate mob mercilessly beat up Amimo before killing him in a banana plantation behind the house.“Amimo is my cousin and I have never known him to be a bad boy. He told me he was looking for spare parts to repair the broken-down motorcycle,” Auma said.Confirming the incident, Khwisero OCPD Lanet Sili, noted that the boda boda operators came with an aim of killing and torching houses.“They acted so fast that by the time we reached the home, they had lynched one man, burnt another and set two houses ablaze,” Sili said.Bodies of the deceased were taken to Mbale Hospital mortuary in Vihiga County.Police have launched investigations into the killings and arson.
