Police officers in Machakos County on Wednesday arrested four men suspected to be terrorists.
The four were spotted by members of the public carrying big bags searching for a hotel room in Machakos town.
Addressing journalists Machakos town police OCPD Adiel Nyange confirmed that the four men were arrested by police officers after they were tipped by members of public.
“We arrested four men on Wednesday at around 3:30PM following information from members of public,” said Nyange.
However, residents have received a relieving message from the police officers after investigation showed that the four men are National Aids and STI Campaign Programme (NASCOP) workers, a government institution, who had just arrived in Machakos town for a conference.
“We want to assure Machakos town residents and the whole county that our security system is beefed up. We have done the investigation on the four men and they have all details showing they are from NASCOP and have come for a two days meeting here in the town,” said Nyange
