Police in Kisauni have arrested a suspected Wakali Kwanza criminal gang member accused of attacking and robbing a woman in Kisauni.The suspect, Ali Tende, was arrested for allegedly slashing the woman in Barakani, Kisauni, leaving her with deep cuts on her body.Tende, 19, allegedly attacked Valentine Wakio on Thursday morning alongside six others who are yet to be arrested. Wakio, who is in her 30’s, sustained deep cuts on her shoulder after the gang allegedly attacked her with a machete. The suspect is reported to have made away with her bag containing an undisclosed amount of money. Tende, who is said to be a known drug trafficker was arrested following an operation by plain clothes officers. Confirming Ali’s arrest, Kisauni police boss Christopher Rotich said police have launched a manhunt for the other six suspects.“We are still interrogating the suspect, we want to get some information from him. We also appeal to members of the public and the witnesses to volunteer information which will lead to the arrest of the other suspects,” said Rotich as quoted by Baraka FM. Ali is currently being held at the Nyali police station pending investigations while the victim is undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
