Two suspects accused of killing Gatunguru Secondary School principal Samuel Mbogo will remain in police custody at the Murang'a GK prison until July 30.
According to the judge, the suspects will be remanded until the mentioned date when the court will decide on their bail application.The two suspects, Alice Mugechi, the wife of the deceased, and Harrison Gitu, on Wednesday denied murder charges before Murang'a High Court judge Kanyi Kimondo.The suspects are accused of killing the principal on May 12, 2018 and dumping the body inside his car, which was found 200 metres away from his residence in Gathukiini village.Residents said they discovered the body after they saw blood dripping from the driver’s side of the car. Mbogo’s body is said to have been found with his tongue and eyes gouged out.Gathukiini Chief Stephen Komu who confirmed the incident said Mbogo had a shaky marriage with his wife Mugechi, who was later arrested in connection with the murder."The marriage between the two was horrible….The teacher was cut in the head and we suspect his wife was also involved. We believe she has information that will be used to establish the truth," said Komu.The slain principal was laid to rest at his Gakurwe home on May 19, 2018.
