A man on Monday pleaded guilty to theft of mobile phones and money before a Nakuru court.

Maxwell Omondi was accused of stealing Sh50, 000 and a techno phone valued at Sh4, 000, property of Hellen Wairimu on September 30, 2015 in Nakuru town.

Omondi faced a second account of stealing a Samsang Galaxy phone worth Sh8, 560 belonging to Abdi Ali Omar on September 24 at YMCA area within Nakuru.

He also faced a third account of stealing a techno phone worth Sh2,500 belonging to Shafi Alisudra Nasir on September 24 at YMCA area.

Appearing before Senior Principle magistrate Liz Gicheha, he pleaded guilty and prayed that the court have mercy on him when it makes its verdict.

In the same court, Jackson Kimani pleaded guilty to stealing a motor bicycle valued at Sh90,000 belonging to Francis Kinyua on October 11 at Wanyoro B area in Bahati constituency.

According to the prosecution, Kimani found the motorcycle parked and as he tried to run away with it, he was seen by the people who were around the place and raised the alarm.

He was beaten by the mob and the police came to his rescue.

He was arrested and taken to Bahati police station.

The prosecution said it was not ready to read the facts because the exhibits were not availed before court and prayed for another date.

The cases will be mentioned on October 16 for facts and judgment.
