A section of residents in Eldoret town on Tuesday held demonstrations demanding that Uhuru Kenyatta be sworn into office as a duly elected president.
The over 100 residents also called for the immediate resignation of Supreme Court Judges Philomena Mwilu and Isaac Lenaola after they were linked to the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA).
Led by Benjamin Letting and Sammy Sing'oei, the residents who were carrying placards criticising the Supreme Court decision to nullify presidential results threatened to hold regular demonstrations until when President Kenyatta will be sworn into office.
"We are tired with this court issues. We demand that Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in as President. Raila Odinga should retire peacefully," said Letting.
"Mwilu and Lenaola must resign and be jailed. We know their dealings with the opposition and there is know way we will allow whatever they did to us to go unpunished," Sing'oei added.
Calls for Lenaola and Deputy Chief Justice Mwilu's resignation comes days after one Derrick Ngumu filed a petition with the Judicial Service Commission accusing the two of meeting NASA leaders Moses Wetang'ula and James Orengo at Skyview apartments, Kileleshwa, on August 17 and 18 to discuss the presidential petition.
