The swearing-in of the 12th Parliament members kicked-off at 9.00am, Thursday, in both the National Assembly and Senate.Part of the Members of the National assembly who have already taken their oath include Aden Duale (Garissa township), Francis Nyenze (Kitui West), Sabina Chege (Murang'a), Ken Okoth (Kibra) among others.Some senators already sworn in are James Orengo (Siaya), Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet), Moses Wetangula (Bungoma), Gideon Moi (Baringo) among others.After the swearing in exercise is over, the MPs and the senators will elect speakers and deputy speakers of their respective houses.President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party commands a majority of 199 members while NASA has 127. Independent members are 22.Jubilee and its affiliate parties has 38 members in the senate while NASA has 29. Only 2 are independent senators.
