With only two months to elections, the opposition outfit has crafted a strategy that would see it descend on counties that they believe would go either way in August.
The team is set to launch its official campaigns on June 3 at Masinde Muliro grounds in Kakamega, an event in which will take place two days after their rival Jubilee launches campaigns in Nairobi.
And having been cleared with IEBC, strategists sitting in the NASA management have already earmarked counties which they will focus on to garner majority that would avoid a presidential run off.
“We have put everything in place and our main focus will be at swing counties. Narok, Samburu, Isiolo, Kajiado, Marsabit, Mandera, West Pokot and Baringo are in the list,” says ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale.
He adds: “we have come up with a team that will take charge. All NASA allied counties have been zoned so there is nothing to fear.”
The counties which are mostly marginalized will have Suna East MP Junet Mohammed lead campaigns and will be occasionally joined by NASA principals.
A recent opinion poll by IPSOS Synovate puts president Uhuru Kenyatta at pole position at 47 percent with opposition leader Raila Odinga coming closely at 42 percent.
