New Seychelles President Danny Faure has expressed his country's desire to hire Kenyan teachers.

Speaking when he met President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House, Nairobi, Faure noted that Kenya has always had outstanding teachers who can be incorporated into his country to improve education standards.

"You still have good teachers," he said, alluding to some 400 Kenyans working in different sectors in Seychelles.

The two had met for talks and to sign a pact that will see the two countries improve their working more together in terms of trade and security.

In the broad-based agreement, Kenya will export more human capital and agricultural products to Faure's country while they will in return support Kenya to develop its maritime sector including the fishing industry to which Kenya has directed little efforts since independence.

"It is both our ambition and intention to ensure that we do everything that we can to deepen regional trade investment and to grow our regional economies by working together," said Kenyatta.

"What we are doing now is to improve Government-to-Government ties," the President added.
