An Ipsos Synovate survey released on Saturday last week indicated that twice as many Cord supporters than Jubilee supporters go to bed hungry daily.
The survey showed that 49 percent of Cord supporters go to bed hungry while only 23 percent of Jubilee supporters experience the same.
It may be a sweet tune to the Jubilee leadership which seem to be doing well in recent opinion polls, but the same may not be said of their supporters whom this survey has portrayed incorrectly.
To say the least, the survey is shallow if not a shoddy hypothetical work christened as an opinion poll. Many will agree, that though some regions of this country experience abject poverty, political inclination of those regions is a non-issue when it comes to individual lifestyles.
A child or an adult in a poor Kiambu County household is likely to sleep hungry just like their poor counterparts in Kisumu County.
Their support for either Jubilee or Cord here is not a factor. Some pundits have been arguing that many Jubilee strongholds are a bit developed as opposed to Cord's which could have influenced Ipsos Synovate findings, but nothing could be further from the truth.
There are several poor families in Gatundu South who survive on less than a dollar a day just as there are in say Bondo. Many Jubilee supporters can agree that UhuRuto's presidency so far has benefited opposition zones more than it has done in their areas.
No wonder some few months ago there was grumbling among many Jubilee supporters who complained that UhuRuto had abandoned them to go and woe the opposition supporters.
Some leaders in Jubilee were even quoted in some sections of the media warning UhuRuto that they should not think that votes in their strongholds are guaranteed.
It, therefore, goes without saying that Ipsos Synovate's findings are flawed, misleading and more so divisive.
