The woman has also been accused of infecting the pupil with gonorrhoea and syphilis.

Mbula Kioko, a vegetable vendor in Mukunike, is accused of swaying the young 14-year-old by giving him favours like money which has led to him leaving his parents’ home for her house for a period of three weeks.

Furious residents on Monday stormed the woman’s home after word spread that the boy’s parents took their boy to hospital after he came home limping on Monday morning last week.

The boy’s mother explained that she took her sick child to hospital only to be diagnosed with sexually transmitted diseases.

Confirming the incident, area Chief Bethwel Kingele condemned the incident terming it as a taboo and child abuse. He however called on the residents to remain calm and wait for police investigations instead of taking matters into their own hands.

“The boy’s parents had reported to me that their child was missing from their home and suspected he was in the woman’s house. After I confronted and asked her, she denied the claims terming them allegations by people who hate her,” said Kingele.

The angry residents however had gathered together in the evening planning to ‘teach’ her a lesson.

Speaking to one of the neighbours, Ndunge Muasya, she said that as a parent she was not pleased by the act and other children are at a risk of being subjected to the same situation.

“I cannot condone this behaviour in our location. Whether the boy accepted to the act or not, he is a minor and it is a crime against the law and our societal values to commit a sexual act with a minor,” said Ndunge.

The chief on Tuesday evening confirmed that the woman had been transferred to Kangundo police station as police investigate the matter.
