Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja has commended Taita Taveta All Stars after it drew with Kilifi All Stars in a highly competitive match played on Sunday.
"Congratulations our boys -Taita Taveta All Stars for maintaining the unbeaten run after the 2-2 draw with Kilifi All Stars in a highly competitive match played today at Dawson Mwanyumba stadium in Wundanyi," he said.
On Saturday, they got a walk over after Mnarani FC failed to show up for the match. Taita Taveta All Stars is position 2 in the FKF Division Two League table with 7 points.
On April 2, the governor congratulated Taita Taveta All Stars for registering a healthy win by thrashing Nyota FC 5-1 during the 1st FKF division 2 northern zone league match at Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa.
"Keep it up Khalid Deco for emerging the top scorer, Lotan Mwaghodi for scoring the team's first goal in the 5th minute, Boaz Mwagodi and Halik Aziz we are also proud that you gloriously carried our county's flag high," he said.Earlier, Samboja indicated construction of Dawson Mwanyumba stadium to a modern Fifa international standards would commence soon.
He had held a successful deliberation with the Deputy President William Ruto together with the Sports Principal Secretary Kirimi Kaberia.
Samboja said the Sh100 million from the National government would kick start the works as his government continues to seek more funds from other partners.
"We want to support our talents that is why we are moving with speed to construct the stadium," said the governor.
"The PS has left the country to attend the commonwealth games in Australia but immediately he jets back, he will come here with officials from his ministry to finalise the plans as we start the construction works."
