Kiambu society has been urged to be taking care of the widows living among them so as to give them encouragement and strength they need to push on with life.
Apostle Isaiah Mwangi of Church of Christ, Banana where he has said that many widows are forgotten immediately after the day their husbands are buried, has made the call.
Speaking during a widows forum at the church yesterday, Isaiah said that the widows especially the ones with young children should be helped and appreciated to enable them raise the kids.
"We need to keep on looking after them. Pray with them and more so show them love. Let them feel appreciated and valued," Isaiah, said.
He also asked members of the community to be also considering them in leadership positions to enable them to stand with their families.
The Apostle further appealed for material help for the widows saying that they need all kinds of support.
"What about visiting and taking them some little food once in a while? That is the spirit we want inculcated in all of us; we must be each other's keeper," he said.
