The embattled National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Dr. Miguna Miguna still stands out as the political 'liberator' to the particular group of Kenyans who closely followed the footsteps of government's long miles revolutionary leader Raila Odinga before he gave in to the 'illegitimate rule' as they have always put it in what they called a reconciliatory handshake between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Although staunch Odinga supporters will always maintain that 'Baba is always right', the handshake he made with President Kenyatta dealt a huge blow to his support base considering how he pledged to deal with the 'despotic duo' (Uhuru and Ruto) and gave his supporters a million reasons to be hopeful only to give in at the time he was most needed. Some of his followers who were never impressed by his move decided to put their hopes on Miguna who had kept high his head on 'saving Kenyans'.

It is well known that Miguna Miguna had resolved to be a diehard supporter to Odinga in the revolutionary walk towards liberation of their people when he declared himself the general of NRM when it was formed, however, when Odinga decided to let go his political aim of 'saving Kenyans from misrule', Miguna did not side with him, he has since maintained that he will fight for the people and save them from 'impunity'.

In a tweet earlier after the handshake, Miguna Miguna declared that the NRM was not involved in the handshake citing that intractable societal ills can't be solved by simple handshakes - "Contrary to myths being propagated by the contaminated Kenyan media, the NRM isn't "isolated" by the "handshake." The NRM is not involved. We are not going to solve intractable societal ills through handshakes. We are going to do so through structural changes in governance," Miguna said.

Miguna who is currently in Canada and has pledged to come back to his motherland Kenya in what he calls 'liberation of the people from despotic leadership'.

Kenyans should, therefore, know that irrespective of how inhumane the national government treats Miguna Miguna, his wrath of revolution must be felt and despite being denied entry into the country, his time shall come. With the help of his support base (which increased after Odinga merged with Uhuru) Miguna is capable of leading his subjects to where they want to be for the power of the people is stronger than that of an individual.
