Mr Kabogo had allegedly dismissed Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid saying Mt Kenya region will not support him before refuting the claims days later after the duo met in Nakuru.

Atuti now says the DP should take the remarks seriously and come with a counter strategy to safeguard his 2022 presidential ambitions.

“Kabogo’s remarks should not be dismissed by the DP because he is a senior politician and such remarks should be treated with the weight they deserve,” said Atuti.

“The DP must now come with a counter strategy and ensure he streamlines everything ahead of the polls in question. Anything is possible in politics and gambling should never be given a chance at all,” he added.

Atuti said that the Mt Kenya region has been having a conservative voting pattern and the DP needs to consolidate his support from all regions to avoid an embarrassment in future.

“Kabogo’s remarks might be true because central Kenya voting pattern has been a bit conservative. They go for one of their own and the DP should now not depend on two regions for support. Time has come for him to go out and reach other communities,” he said.
