After the unanticipated meeting between the opposition chief Raila Odinga and the retired President Daniel Moi, the Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen now wants to also meet the former head of state.
Speaking on Sunday during the homecoming ceremony of Chris Kiptoo, Principal Secretary for Trade, in Moiben Uasin Gishu county, the Senate majority leader accused Gideon Moi of denying them chance to meet the former president.
The vocal Senator who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto asked Moiben MP Silas Tiren to tell Baringo Senator Gideon Moi that they are also looking for an appointment to meet Mzee Moi.
Tiren was among a few politicians who accompanied Odinga when he visited Moi's Kabarack home last week.
Murkomen further claimed Gideon Moi only allows politicians who are loyal to him to meet his father.
“Tiren was able to visit Moi because he was with Raila. It has been very difficult for us to see Moi because Gideon has been allowing only those loyal to him to see the old man, you will now help us Tiren. When you meet Gideon, tell him we are also looking for an appointment to see Moi,” he said.
