Residents of Garissa County have been urged to participate in the ongoing county integrated development plan and public participation forums in order to prioritize their crucial needs for the next five years.
County executive for Trade, Entrepreneur Development and Tourism Adow Jubat and his Youth, Gender and Sports colleague Zeinab Abdi said all residents' opinions will be catered for according to their priorities.
Jubat said that the current administration learnt the mistakes from the previous government where projects have stalled or completed but not in use simply because members of the public have not been involved in the projects.
"Residents should come out and share views on the projects they want to give priority so that the county government will ensure the projects are completed before the five-year term ends," said Jubat.
Abdi urged women, youth to turn out in large numbers to participate in the forums which are open.
"No one will be punished or criticized for participating in the forums. Views from locals of different levels must be given ears for the sake of development in the county," she noted.
