ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of failing to effectively fight corruption in his administration.
Speaking in Mombasa on Wednesday, the opposition chief said Uhuru's silence is a sign of surrender in the fight against graft.
Raila said Uhuru is either protecting business associates conducting transactions with the government or has reached the end of his abilities, adding that the move has led to the loss of public funds.
“The effect of the President shielding his cronies from prosecution for corruption and that of him failing to come up with workable solutions to the corruption challenge is a grievous injury to Kenyans,” said Raila.
Raila said Uhuru is guilty for all the corruption that is taking place under his watch.
He cited the NYS scam that led to the loss of more than Sh1billion public funds and the Afya House scandal in the Health docket as some of the notable corruption scandals that have rocked the Jubilee government.
