Embattled sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario has been told to take responsibility over the mishandling of Kenyan athletes at the recently concluded Rio Olympics. Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri Tuesday lashed out at Wario for apportioning blame to other officials over the mistreatment of athletes when it was apparent that the buck stops at his office.
"The CS must take responsibility over the mess our athletes found themselves in at the Olympics because he is the one in charge. He should stop blaming others," he said.
Wario however has since absolved himself of any blame saying he is equally a victim of the Rio debacle which he blamed on a cartel.
Detectives however grilled him on Wednesday amid calls by a section of Kenyans to have him step aside.
