Ruto termed the mudslinging politics by Cord that accompanied the death of Jacob Juma as a clear indication that the coalition is ready to exploit any unfortunate incident to ascend to power. He urged them not to make political statements in funerals but to the investigating authorities.

Speaking during a church service and roadside meetings in Lari Constituency, Kiambu County, Ruto who was accompanied by eight MPs allied to Jubilee Party said the opposition and their cronies should be investigated over Juma's death.

The DP added that the opposition has no agenda.

At the same time, Gatundu MP Moses Kuria urged the Cord to follow the due processes in case they wanted changes in the IEBC.

Kuria said the IEBC was a creation of Cord leader Raila Odinga and former President Mwai Kibaki and that leaders have no mandate under the constitution to disband the IEBC without a parliamentary process.
