Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa wants elected leaders in the county to take their work seriously and solve challenges facing the people.
Speaking at Kanyungu village in Kabete constituency on Monday, the lawmaker said that some county leaders are taking residents for granted.
He observed that residents are suffering yet the leaders they elected are making merry while engaging in petty quarrels.
“It is time that some leaders realised that they have work to do for the people who elected them,” he said.
Ichung'wa noted that development will never be realised if politicians continue to engage in unnecessary warfare.
The MP asked the county top leadership to provide the necessary direction and ask leaders to perform. He said that Governor William Kabogo must bring county leaders together and compel them to work for the people.
He added that the governor as the head of the county must provide the right direction to all leaders. The MP said he will spearhead policies that will promote development across the constituency.
