In an interview with some of them they welcomed the idea of having as many saccos as possible in Tala as this will lead to reduction of the fares that have been hiking every now and then.

Alfonce Nyamai a business man in Tala town noted that over the years the dominant saccos in Tala town namely MAKATA and KAM saccos have been oppressing commuters by hiking fares and it would be a good thing if Eastern bypass travellers sacco vehicles should be allowed to operate from Tala bus park.

Asumpta Nzisa a resident from Tala area said that Matungulu and Kangundo sub-counties should not be dominated by two saccos who are afraid of healthy competition and are bent on oppressing commuters from day to day.

She noted that despite fuel fee going down the fare has never been reduced and that she is optimistic that once the other Saccos are allowed to operate that it will benefit the commuters.

This comes a week after a fight erupted in Tala bus park between KAM, MAKATA and Eastern bypass travellers sacco officials where the dominant sacco and its counterpart MAKATA were against EBT sacco to picking passengers from the buspark.

The feud between these Sacco's have been experienced for long, as per now MAKATA and KAM Sacco's have avoided using the buspark to pick passengers and instead use nearby petrol stations citing that they won't resume using the buspark until the EBT sacco are scrapped from it.
