Residents of Tala town on Monday were not a happy lot following the extreme dirty condition of the town centre and residential premises following failure to collect and dispose off garbage by relevant persons.
The residents have blamed the Kangundo Sub-County Commissioner Evelyn Kavuu on the poor condition of the towns’ environment stating she has not been availing herself for meetings scheduled to talk about the condition.
Speaking in Kangundo town the Tala town, chairperson Ann Katile has said the garbage piles in Tala town have slouched uncollected by County workers and are now rotting.
“The County workers who have been assigned garbage collection task are not doing it well. There are workers who were laid off and therefore few workers are not able to do the overwhelming job,” said Katile.
Katile further cited that a call for a meeting with the Sub-County Commissioner has not been successful following her decline to turn-up for the meetings.
“We have been arranging for a meeting with the Sub-County Commissioner but every time we schedule time and place she does not turn up to discuss the bad condition of the town and residential areas,” she added.
Traders and the latest dirty town Centre have questioned Kavuu’s leadership severally following increased strikes.
Kavuu however a week ago speaking to the media stated she is putting plans in place to clean the town.
