Tala residents have benefited from a three-day CDF Project management committees training that was held at Savanna Lodge, Nguluni from Saturday June 18 to Monday June 20.
The training helped the residents understand the Constituency Development Fund’s [CDF] legal and implementation framework, understand the Project Management Committee’s functions and procurement processes, understand how CDF can promote accountability and gender equity and how to use the social evaluation tool.
The Constituency Development Fund which was introduced in Kenya in 2003 to combat poverty and promote equitable growth and development around the country has helped residents of Tala in implementing various projects in the last two years.
"The training was basically training of overview of CDF, roles of various stakeholders, procurement, financial management, project management & implementation, alcohol, drug & substance use, disability /gender mainstreaming, HIV-AIDS, Youth and women empowerment,’’ said Jimmy Musyoka one of the residents who graced the event.
