A youth group has welcomed calls for dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
However, Mt Kenya Youth Caucus said the talks should only be initiated after Uhuru is sworn in for his second term.
Speaking in Kiambu Town on Thursday, group chairman Linford Mutembei said the dialogue should include all stakeholders and focus on healing the nation.
"The talks must focus on uniting Kenyans irrespective of their political affiliation. They should not seek to compensate unhappy politicians who lost last elections," he said.
"Dialogue should be meaningful and constructive and should not be used as a bridge to build a political mansion for a few leaders," Mutembei insisted.
The group also faulted the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) over calls to change the law to create new positions in the executive.
"We hold elections so that the winner becomes president and the losers become the opposition," the official said.
NCCK proposed the formation of posts of official opposition leader, prime minister and two deputies.
