Nurses have agreed to go back to the negotiating table to end their nationwide strike but only in the presence of the County Public Service Board Forum chairman and a representative of the Ministry of Health.

The Kenya National Union of Nurses {Knun} also insist that they will attend the meeting to discuss only the disputed collective bargaining agreement {CBA} and no other.

"In view of the ongoing strike, the union affirms its wish to see the stalemate brought to an end without compromising the CBA under dispute," said General Maurice Opetu, Knun secretary.

The nurses have asked the president to stop his campaigns and address their issues that led to the strike which is in its sixth week now.

The nurses admit that it is painful for them to see patients suffering in hospitals while the Salaries and Remuneration Commission {SRC} and the CoG are locked in a disagreement on how t end the strike.​
