Given an average woman uses around 10,000 sanitary products across her lifetime, researchers and women are now giving serious thoughts to their menstrual managerial methods.
Sanitary towels are highly used across the globe. Given in a wide range of absorbency levels, women generally prefer pads during their light-flow days. However, the main challenge most women face with pads is that it is not suitable for certain physical activities.
Tampons, on the other hand, seem to be the preferable choice for younger women, less than 41 years of age. Most young women use tampons for the greater freedom it presents during physical activities.
Just like the sanitary towels, tampons also come in a variety of size and absorbency levels. It is however said that women using tampons may be at risk of urinary tract infections.
Some women nonetheless, do not like pads because it makes them feel like they are wearing a diaper and sitting on their periods, which literarily sucks to them. Others actually tend to use both tampons and sanitary pads at the same time, with a hope of being safer.
With the wide range of menstrual managerial schemes present, women should educate themselves more about the best options suited for them and most importantly, understand the language of their bodies.
