Youth leader Usama Ali Hassan from the Motivational Talk for Youth, an Organization based in Mombasa said that youth should not just go to the beach and swim but do business with the holidaymakers.
He said that youth may ignore small business like selling of swimming costume and Coastal delicacies but they would mint money during the festive season.
He said that thousands of locals and tourists locals have been flocking the Jomo Kenyatta public beach famously known us ‘Pirates’ since the beginning of the long holidays and as a youth, they should think on how they will make money through such holidays.
“If youth think big then take a small step, engage the swimmers and those traveling to the Coast region and after the holiday season you can expand your business” he urged the youth.
Usama said that most youth would sit idle at home waiting for employment opportunities yet they are ignoring simple small opportunities which can make them rich.
“Do not feel shy selling fried cassava and potatoes at the beaches and other Swahili delicacies they attract such visitors and at the end, you are the beneficiary” he reiterated.
The young motivational speaker from Majengo Mombasa however, appealed to the Mombasa County government to create awareness and engage youth in business forums so that they develop business ideas and tap into such holidays so that they make money.
He further urged the county government to facilitate the youth so that they construct stalls on the beaches and do business.
He also urged local leaders in the County to enable youth make money in such seasonal businesses and make them sustain their lives.
Usama was speaking at the Jomo Kenyatta public beach in Bamburi, Mombasa where thousands of holidaymakers have flocked the beach to enjoy the Christmas and New year holidays.
