One of the roads earmarked for the same is the Haile Selassie Road exit which joins Thika Superhighway close to Chania Bridge.

Other plans are repairing section 9 road near the famous landmark mugumo tree.

“Two road projects endorsed by the local government will start very soon. The county’s objective is to tarmac main feeder roads and roads connecting estates. We want all wards to enjoy enhanced infrastructure,” Kimani said on Tuesday.

When the projects are successfully completed, Thika town’s economy will amplify as traffic jams have been a major issue with a lot of time being wasted.

The MCA asserted that there are slight delays to release funds from the county offices but he ascertained that the projects would begin within no time.

"There are numerous potholes on Section 9 making the road impassable. I assure residents of Thika that other development plans will begin immediately once the county government releases funds," he added.
