The County Government has contracted a multi-professional group to look into the state of all the 121 health facilities in the county.

Governor Jackson Mandago and his deputy Daniel Chemno on Monday commissioned the task force made up of professional from up to 8 hospitals, schools, and professional institutions.

The group is made up of professionals from the fields dietetics, public health, pharmacy, lab technology, nursing, among others.

Speaking as he launched the group, Mandago said the assessment seeks to establish the state of infrastructure, equipment, personnel, and inventory.

"We have launched an assessment whose recommendations will be crucial in advising us on our strengths and weaknesses," said Mandago.

"From there, we shall be able to know which areas to correct and most importantly fund to ensure that we deliver on our services," he added.

Mandago also emphasized that the assessment report will ready Uasin Gishu County for the roll-out of the Jubilee Government's Universal Health Care, one of the Big Four Pillars.

"My Government has always worked to align its development agendas with the big four pillars, this is why we are pioneering with this assessment to ensure that we shall be compliant when the Universal Health program is rolled out," said the vocal Jubilee governor.
