President Uhuru Kenyatta officially opened the 12th Parliament on Tuesday for the elected MPs to start their sittings.

The new legislators have major tasks ahead before the completion of their 5 year term in office.

The MPs drawn from opposition coalition and Jubilee should desist unnecessary fights in the House to ensure they address the problems bedeviling the country.

Among the issues the 12th Parliament should address include; unemployment, insecurity, drought, corruption and high cost of living.

The previous Parliament failed in its oversight roles and indulged in massive graft that has led to the poor growth of the country's economy.

For the MPs in the 12th Parliament to remain in office after 5 years, they should work towards the development of the country or be ready to be shown the door after 5 years.
