The High court in Nairobi has temporarily halted roadworks at the multi-billion Tatu City project after a row over a contract of Sh1.4 billion.
The orders stopping the project were issued after an application by local contractor Ongata Works Ltd which was to carry out roadworks at the site.
The firm had been mandated with constructing trunk and access roads as well as other infrastructure in the mega project at a cost of Sh1,442,460,961.
A dispute however arose after Tatu City gave the firm a notice terminating the 18-month contract in December last year citing failure to comply with certain instructions.
