A section of tea farmers in Kisii County have raised concerns over delay of fertilizer from Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA).
Led by Omoturumesi Tea Buying Centre Chairperson Samson Nyamweya, they said that the agency has not provided fertilizers for the last eight months.
“ Our tea is not currently doing well because we haven’t received the fertilizer and we are planning to protest to the KTDA offices. The last eight months have been quite tough for us," he said.
Nyamweya said the predicament may lead to enormous losses in the tea sector which may also impact negatively in the country's tea production.
They were speaking on Wednesday afternoon at Omoturumesi Tea Buying Centre in Nyaribabari Chache Constituency.
