The lump sum is expected to flow into their accounts with the next 14 days.The head of the corporate Mr Ndiga Kathae confirmed this."We have always been paying farmers at the end of October, this is a tradition each year," said Kathae.The tea growers will earn sh 42 billion as the second payment.This payment is down by sh2billion compared to last year's earnings of sh.44billion.A report from KTDA indicated that farmers shall pocket 76%of sh78 billion turnovers realized in the 2016/2017 financial year.The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) says the production of the green leaf will drop from 473 kilograms produced the last year 2016 to about 420 kilograms this year.
