Teachers from Kisii County have told President Uhuru Kenyatta that they will not be honouring future court orders since he has set a bad precedent by failing to honour the Supreme Court’s order on their salary increment.

The teachers, led by Kuppet and Knut officials from Kisii County have regretted that President Kenyatta's failure to honour the Supreme Court order had set a bad example in the country by the institution of the Presidency.

Speaking to the press in Kisii town on Monday after leading their members in street protests against the government's failure to honour the court’s salary increment, Kisii County Kuppet Executive Secretary Ben Nyaundi fired a warning shot at the president that he should not expect them to honour court orders yet he has failed to do the same.

“As teachers from Kisii County, we are putting the President Uhuru Kenyatta on notice that teachers of this country will not honour future court orders since he himself has failed to honour the same orders from the Supreme Court,” stated Nyaundi.

Nyaundi further wondered how the President Kenyatta can fail to honour a court order, yet he swore to protect the Constitution of Kenya, which created the Supreme Court whose orders the President has failed to respect.
