Teachers willing to go back to school have expressed fears that they may be attacked by their colleagues following the start of the countrywide strike The teachers, claimed that they had already started getting death threats and intimidation SMS as they were termed as betrayers. Speaking to the press in Nakuru town, James Maina, a teacher said that he was willing to go back and had been warned of severe consequences by his colleagues if he betrays them. “Some of us are not on this strike by choice. We are just being frustrated by our fellow colleagues. We fear that we will be beaten if we do not agree to their demands,” he added Another teacher, Jane Wambugu now wants the government to provide security for the teachers who are wiling to go back to work. “We are appealing to police to protect us and ensure that we do not get attacked by the rowdy teachers. We love our profession and do not want to be part of this illegal strike,” she added Joseph Wambugu, a head teacher, however called on all teachers to be part of the strike. “This is the only way we can have the government listen to us. It is the only language they understand,” he added
