Speaking in Kisumu Boys during the launch of Kenya Network of HIV positive teacher, CeC Kere asked teachers to be checking the whereabouts of pupils and students while in schools.

"There is high cases of sexual assault amongst minors in the county. They are both being abused at home and outside their various homes,” claimed Kere.

She added, “I discourage parents who entrust lives and safety of their children to Bodaboda operators. Some of these Bodaboda operators have a tendency of harassing our children whom they carry to schools.”

Kere also encouraged teachers that in case they notice any peculiar behaviour involving pupils or students, then they should not hesitate to report to the relevant authorities.

She advised parents to try and know those operators who take their children to schools by their full names, National Identification cards and probably their character traits.

Kere claimed that there are so many cases of Bodaboda operators who have abuse and sexually assaulted minors and disappeared without a trace.

"Let us take care of our innocent children and let us entrust their well being to people we can trust and who can take care of them as their own sisters or children,” urged CeC Kere.
