Teachers have warned the government of an impending massive nationwide strike should the Teacher's Service Commission (TSC) make forth its proposal to commence mass transfer of teachers to interior parts of the country.
According to the KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion, the giant welfare union will advise its members accordingly as soon as their employer effects 'the cover up' exercise.
“I am assuring the government with 100 per cent certainty. I dare them to go ahead with their plan to destabilise the lives of thousands of teachers and parents. We shall call upon all our members to the mother of all strikes. The TSC should instead hire new teachers,” noted Mr Sossion.
Sossion argues that redistribution of teachers is like devolving the problem of under-staffing across the country, which he says will drastically lower the quality of education in the country.
"Not even a single school in the country is over-staffed. The TSC is just escaping reality by devolving the teachers' shortage crisis across schools," added the vocal Sossion.
However, the teachers' employer has already issued a circular dated 9th June to all County Directors notifying them of conclusive balancing across schools within their areas of jurisdiction.
