TSC says the National Treasury has already given an assurance that Sh13.8 billion required for the implementation of the first phase of the Collective Bargaining agreements starting July 1, had been set aside.
According to the commission, the increment will cost taxpayers a total of Sh54 billion in four years.
Speaking,Sunday, TSC head of communication, Kimotho Kihummba, said the commission was consulting with the union officials and other stakeholders on how to implement the CBA.
“These consultations are based on the framework of the provisions in the two CBA’s and will take into account the interests of the two parties. TSC will in due course issue a detailed circular on how individual teachers in different grades and administrative positions will benefit,” said Kihumba.
“The commission wishes to assure all teachers, stakeholders and the public that there should be no cause for alarm or anxiety as the CBA’s will be implemented with effect from July 1,” Kihumba noted.
