Uasin Gishu County Director of Education Yusuf Jilo has proposed for the establishment of National Talent Development Council.
He said, this will help nurture and develop untapped talents.
"Talents in the country have been neglected despite youths having talents that needs to be nurtured," he said.
Speaking to journalists in Eldoret town on Tuesday Jilo said, it's sad that teachers only concentrate on academic qualifications rather than co-curricular activities .
"Despite one having academic qualifications talents must also be given first priority, identified at an early age since it may be useful to them in future,"he said.
He added, cases of job scarcity and idleness will be a thing of the past if talents are identified and developed.
