Uasin gishu primary school teachers have managed to successfully complete an ICT integrated training.

The training, which was carried out countrywide was targeting primary school teachers in preparation to absorption of laptops in schools.

Speaking in Eldoret on Tuesday, Wareng sub county Education Director David Chirchir said that the training was targeting lower classes teachers.

“The ministry wanted three teachers per school to be trained for one week on ICT in preparation to new laptop project,” said Chirchir.

Chirchir observed that the instruction will enable teachers understand how to tutor the children with the new technology.

 “As a county, we has managed to  train  about 1220 teachers, Wareng sub county training 333, Eldoret east 441 and Eldoret west training 456 teachers,” said Chirchir.

The director said that the ministry has told the education department to identify schools which already have the laptops.

He further called on the government to provide security to all citizens in the country especially learning institution.

Chirchir was speaking in an event in Cheptiret in the outskirts of Eldoret town during a meeting with the primary school heads from wareng Sub County.
