Teargasing opposition leaders was not the best way to solve national issues, nor is physical eviction of IEBC Commissioners.
Cord maybe having legitimate concerns, but as Kenyans, we need solid proposals on how to reconstitute IEBC with credible people of integrity not being influenced by political inclination.
A perfect electoral body even if IEBC is disbanded would be difficult. Import one from Uganda, or South Africa, or the US, perhaps? It is obvious in Kenya that the losing side always prefers to blame the referee not the coach.
The game can only be fair if your team wins. What a setback mentality! Secondly, opinion polls are not a barometer, more importantly when they say that a country is divided because the winner got slightly more than 50 per cent, kindly take statistics in democracies and tell me how many presidents win by more than 50 percent, you will be surprised they are less than 50 percent, most win by 37 to 44 percent, yet I never hear press or opinion poll talking of a divided nation.
Let us present coherent ways of solving the grievances raised, from credible people with integrity.
Cord should know also that IEBC is an independent body not a Jubilee organisation as they call it, may I take u back.
When called ECK off we were so happy that IEBC was to be the best ever than Samwel Kivuitu's (may he rest in peace) commission but what now has changed?
Politicians should and must know that if we want to disband the Isaac Hassan’s commission, they should and must follow the law not jumping into conclusions without following the prober channel of which they know.
Jubilee has to also respect Cord's stand and dialogue on a diplomatic manner and end this mess once and for all, not sitting and watching while common wanainchi are suffering.
