[Photo|Ochieng Owili]The Dawa Development Group funded referral hospital at Holo in Seme constituency is taking shape and approaching the last leg of completion.This followed the second inspection visit to the facility within two weeks by the developers headed by the CEO Sheikh Musa and their representative from Dubai Sadiq Abeid who was accompanied by Dr. Sameer Kumar of Thumbay Group, Dubai.Dawa Group CEO said that they were considering signing an MpU with the Thumbay Group for the management and running of the hospital.Thumbay Group whose founders are Thumbay Moideen and the current president runs high end academic hospitals across the Emirates and India as well as the biggest private university in the Emirates.Dr. Sameer, during the courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Kisumu Dr Ochieng Owili at the County government offices on Thursday, gave a scintillating presentation of the services offered by the Thumbay Group.Dr. Sameer gave an assurance that they provide service first and the business will follow and costs will not be a deterrent to access of the quality healthcare services that will be on offer as espoused in the vision of the originators of the project.Dr. Nyikal who was also present at the presentation proposed that the Holo facility undertakes management of specialised conditions such as sickle cell anaemia which is prevalent in Nyanza region as well as renal cases besides general medicine.A tripartite technical committee comprising representatives from the County Government, the Dawa Group and Thumbay was formed to come up with the best management module for the facility.Also present were the Health CeC Dr. Rosemary Obara, Physical Planning and Urban Development CeC Nerry Achar as well as Water and Irrigation CeC Salmon Orimba.
