Technology has been blamed as one of the factors contributing to the cases of mental problems, drug abuse and suicide among many people in Kiambu County and elsewhere in the country.
According to James Muturi the Co-ordinator of the Kiambu based Positive Thinkers Program- which has been going round educating people on how to handle technological changes- technology has played a big role in turning many people into 'zombies'.
"As technology continue to advance, there is a need to educate people on how to handle it. You have heard of things like social media and now the digital migration. These things continue to fetch many people's minds to an extent we no longer have humans but zombies,” said Muturi.
He says the situation has been aggravated by the fact that people no longer have time for social life as they are always busy with their gadgets.
He notes that this is a dangerous situation as such people are unable to handle challenges and would either turn to drugs or suicide at the slightest provocation.
Muturi was speaking in a seminar in Kiambu town yesterday.
