Police at Ngata Police Station are holding a teenager for defiling a minor.
Joseph Maina, 16, a standard eight candidate, allegedly defiled the four-year-old girl at Ngata Shopping Centre, Mosop Ward, Rongai Constituency.
Ngata OCS John Karanga confirmed the incident and said that the offender will be arraigned in court.
“The teenager will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of rape as soon as we have completed our investigations. We have to get a doctor’s report and other evidence to support the allegations,” said Karanga.
It was alleged that the teen lured the minor with an orange and led her to his house where he raped her several times.
“I had sent Wairimu to buy sugar but Maina meet her on the way and deceived her with a fruit,” said Alice Njoki, the minor’s mother.
Maina is expected to sit for his exams at the police station.
According to the OCS, arrangements are being made to allow the offender sit for his exams at the police station.
“The rapist is protected by the constitution and his rights will be respected. We will not deny him a chance to sit for his exams,” said the OCS.
