A juvenile was Thursday arraigned before a Kisumu court and charged with defilement.

The 16 year old allegedly committed the offense to a 5 year old girl at Mbeme area in Kisumu East Sub County between July and September 2016 according to sources.

The accused first appeared in court on 28th November 2016 when the court ruled that he be held at Kisumu juvenile institution.

Winam Resident Magistrate C.N Njalale assessed the juvenile’s report and released him on a Sh80, 000 bond.

Lawrence Obuya Amolo, a grandfather to the accused, produced his title deed as security for the bond.

The case will continue on March 13.
