A 16-year-old girl from Soko Mjinga Estate in Maralal Town, Samburu County died on Monday, November 20 after reportedly drinking too much alcohol.
Relatives said the girl had been advised against alcohol consumption after she fell ill.
"The girl’s death might have been caused by excessive alcohol consumption. She was hospitalised at a health facility where I work," Solomon Ekiru told eDaily.
"The doctor treated and discharged her, but advised her against alcohol consumption,” he added.

Residents have urged the government to crackdown all the places selling illicit brew.
